The Manufacturing Technology Center will be offering a 1-day workshop, Principles of Lean Manufacturing (Lean 101) at Wytheville Community College, 219 Grayson Hall, on July 10, 2008.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide an understanding of the principles and implementation of Lean Manufacturing and how it can improve your company.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Participants will become “employees” of “Buzz Electronics”;
• Present an overview and basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles through hands-on simulation;
• Four rounds of lecture and plant simulation will be presented; and
• Participants will see how “Buzz Electronics” can be converted from a traditional manufacturer to a Lean enterprise.
