Office Value Stream Mapping

The Manufacturing Technology Center will be conducting a 1-Day Office Value Stream Mapping workshop at the Crossroads Institute in Galax, Virginia on August 7, 2008. Through a combination of lecture and exercises, participants will learn to see and map a business process and identify value-added and non value-added activities within a process.

The major objectives of the workshop are to:

• Introduce value stream mapping (VSM) in a hands-on-manner;
• Develop the student's ability to "see the waste" and "see the flow" in designing future state value streams;
• Enhance the student's ability to create an operating strategy and an implementation plan to support a company's strategy; and,
• Provide function specific ideas.
